The Climb

Restore

I just had the privilege of spending thirteen days with my brother and sister in law, Jim and Jan. They came from Ireland for relaxation at the Dunning Mountain Retreat. They didn’t receive much alone time due to my hovering. I cherish the time and have a hard time leaving them alone.

Training

Jim is training for a big climb. Or should I say Klimb? He is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro!! 19,000 feet to the summit. Most importantly, investing in our future by raising money for Metro World Children. http://fundraising.metroworldchild.org/fundraiser-pages/jim-schmitt-is-klimbing-for-kidsPastor Bill Wilson has been serving and teaching children for 50 years. Pastor Jim is joining Pastor Bill for his 70th birthday, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise awareness and money to support Metro World Child, which provides Sunday school for 200,000 children in 12 countries, every week.

Training, I love training. Count me in! Ha-ha, we climbed/hiked, we pushed in a higher altitude than Jim’s lungs are accustomed. He’s training to push himself and to raise interest in reaching vulnerable children. I came alongside him to cheer him and push him.

So, encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Relationship

If you read through the bible, you will discover God is all about encouragement. He never planned on us doing this life alone. All of these; teamwork, friendship, commitment, relationship, are all His idea.

Maybe the climb isn’t yours today. Maybe it is a time for you to get your pom pons and cheer someone else’s climb.

Oh, and click the link above, support Jim’s climb! Check out what Pastor Bill Wilson is up to at metroworldchild.org

Climbing,

Susie
